Friday Favorites

Yay! It is Friday! I still get excited about Fridays even though they kinda feel like just another day at home in quarantine. If you're new around here, there are no rules for my Friday Favorites. No theme or rhyme or reason, just the few things that I've found to be enjoyable lately. I'd love for you to comment and let me know what you've been favoring too. It can be a recipe, a book, a pair of slippers, a plant, a song, a mom-hack, a word you decided to start using.. you get the idea! No rules.

1. The Revlon One Step Hair Dryer

I am know that I am super late to the Revlon party, but I have seen many, many bloggers rave over this new hair too.l for a couple years now. I remember the first time I saw @Pizzazerie share. She was over the moon and singing high praises for it. I thought about getting it then, but just never got around to it. A couple months ago, it was on sale on Amazon for $35, so I pulled the trigger. I cannot believe I waited so long. IMO, It is the easiest and quickest way to get an at-home blow out. Friends have complimented my hair lately and asked what I've done differently, and I am proud to share the magic with them. If you're on the fence, let me push you right on over. It is worth it.

2. This Blue and White Dress from Amazon

How hard is it to dress when you're breastfeeding? I love wearing crossover shirts and dresses for easy access. I found this one on Amazon and I really, really like it. I got a size medium and it fits just right (not a lot of extra room at all).

3. These long layering tanks from J.Crew.

I LOVE these long tanks. I like to wear mine with leggings. I think they wash really well, too. I know I will wear these a whole lot this summer.

4. Tripp's School To Do List

Let me be the first to say, homeschooling your own children is not for the faint of heart. The first couple of weeks were an absolute bust. It was a struggle everyday to get Tripp to sit down and do his work and I felt totally disorganized. I emailed Tripp's teacher and asked if it was really hard to get Tripp to sit down and do work and did he lose his mind if he had to complete a worksheet? and she said, "No." Hahaha. First of all, I was relieved by her answer. Second, I knew it was time for me to get creative and more importantly, more disciplined. Third, I still expected that he was going to complain, but I was going to be more prepared so there wasn't enough time during transitions to get distracted and run away from the table. Ha. Once I realized that the big colorful lists I was making THE NIGHT BEFORE, was a game change for us, I decided to fancy them up a bit. Now let me know tell you, this is the kind of thing I get really excited about and perhaps, a little naive about too. I taught middle school for 7 years, I know exactly what it is like to think you're going to knock a lesson out of the park, that your students will be on the edge of their seats hanging onto every word you say, and you might even think they'll leave your class shaking their heads in disbelief for how their mind was blown during that lesson, but halfway through teaching it you realize they all look confused... I say all that to say, I should have been a little more prepared for how underwhelmed Tripp would be with my new printable list. But I am still sharing it with you, because it took me an embarrassing amount of time to create it and I think it is cute. Please download and use, but don't get overly excited about it. LOL. I thought incorporating a little game like "collect all 7 icecreams for a treat" would be motivating. And it has, but not as much as I was hoping. :)

I also made a girl version!

5. Wrapped CBco Earrings

I love these wrapped earrings, because they are so light and easy to throw on. I think they go with so much and the colors make me happy. They're perfect for lounging by the pool, running errands, BEING OUTSIDE (or inside) of your house! And they make great gifts!

6. Three Ingredient Cobbler

My sweet Mother-in-Law brought a big bag of freshly picked blueberries last Saturday and I knew that I wanted to make a cobbler with them. I totally forgot about this 3 ingredient and super delicious recipe. One box of yellow cake mix, 1 stick of butter, and the fruit of your choice. Since I was using fresh blueberries, I sprinkled them with sugar and a little bit of cinnamon, then let them sit in that for about 30 minutes before I put the cake mixture on top.

I used about 2 cups of blueberries

Melt the butter, then mix into the yellow cake mix. It will be crumbly.

Pour the cake mixture on top.

Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. (I never set timers, but I think it was in there for about 20-30 minutes or just until it is golden brown on top).

Serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed my Friday Favorites! Now is your turn, tell me what you've been favoring!
